French Dip Sandwiches
Ingredients:
1 beef roast (3 to 4 lbs.)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 loaf french bread
Prep:
-sear all sides of meat in skillet
-transfer to crock pot
-combine soy sauce, bouillon, and spices
-pour over roast
-add water to almost cover roast
- cook on LOW for 10 to 12 hours
- remove meat from broth (reserving liquid)
- shred meat with fork
- place on french bread, add cheese
- turn broiler on and melt cheese
- place with reserved liquid, which is now your Au Jus.

ReplyDeleteI made this for the 4th of July and it was awesome. I don't think I have ever had something in the crock pot for that long and wow it pays off! I used all the spices you listed above, then combined with my 3-ingredient "easy" french dip recipe that includes dark beer and french onion soup. It was an awesome combination that everyone raved over... :) thanks!
